Pentecost - Acts 2:1-21 - 31st May 2020 - It must be a very frightening thing to be somewhere when you don't know the local language or understand the culture.
Trinity - 7th June 2020 Genesis 1:1-2:4a, Psalm 8 & 2 Corinthians 13:11-13 - The Trinity is a concept (doctrine) not a set of simple facts so it is not easy to explain.
Pentecost 2 - 14th June 2020, Matthew 9:35- 10:8, (9-23), Romans 5:1-8, Psalm 116:1-2; 12-19 & Genesis 18:1-15, (21:1-7) - However what he did do was touch the untouchable, loved the unlovable and reach out to the outcast all the time proclaiming God’s unlimited love and hospitality for the broken and the isolated.
Don’t be afraid. - Pentecost 3 - 21st June 2020, Genesis 2:8-21, Psalm 86:1-18, Romans 6:1b-11 & Matthew 10:24-39 - Yes, there are things to be afraid of, but Jesus tells us not to be afraid because the truth always ends up being exposed.
God is love - Pentecost 4 - 28th June 2020, Genesis 22:1-14, Psalm 13, Romans 6:12-23 & Matthew 10:40-42 - but God’s love is also tough, demanding and uncomfortable.
Sower and the Seed - Pentecost 6 - 12th July 2020, Romans 8:1-11& Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23 - We need to be indiscriminate in our sowing of the message
A Woman's Faith - Pentecost 11 - 16th August 2020, Romans 11:1-2a, 29-32 & Matthew 15:10-28 - I often contemplate how people from another country, like Papua, or China would view us if they were here today.
What is the kingdom of heaven really like? - Pentecost 16 - 20th September 2020, Philippians 1:21-30 & Matthew 20:1-16 - It isn’t fair! It goes against all of our natural instincts of fairness.
